James Lee Buckley
I am a hands-on leader who enjoys developing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams towards defining, and then achieving an organisation’s evolution towards future orientated visions, and implementing sustainability goals. Always focussing on the ever changing expectations of the end consumer across all touch points in the multi faceted market place of today, and most importantly tomorrow.
I believe we will see even more radical change in the new decade, as the established economies falter, and end consumers expectations evolve. Consumers are driven by their awareness and sensitivity to the escalating climate crisis, and other challenges to our society as we know today, expectations in stark contrast to the stagnating political status quo. Unsure times, but also exciting times for those organisations courageous enough to embrace and work towards a better, more responsible future. Not only for their own economic well-being but also for the environment and a prosperous society which in turn creates the basis for a healthy marketplace.
To survive and prosper through the next decade and beyond I believe brands must be brutally honest, intelligent and creative, we have to focus on repurposing to more sustainable business models, and embracing circular product life cycles to achieve more responsible ways of operating and consuming.
Simple Garments purpose is to empower organisations to respond to the growing call for business’s to articulate their purpose and values. Helping develop strategies in alignment with the need to shift the global economy towards a rapid climate transition, the preservation of biodiversity, the elimination of waste and reduction of inequality. Together, this creates valuable equity for an organisation’s future, resilience! environmental, societal and economic value! refocussed organisational purpose and new positive levers for growth and profitability.
With an international background in design, product development, and business development, design thinking is at the core of Simple Garments approach. Not only infusing fresh perspectives to the more obvious supply chain issues, but also brand evolution, business development and culture throughout the value chain. The creation of innovative and attractive product, and engaging communication relevant for all touch points. Creating added value for the brand, while also extending reach and relevance for positive change through responsible business practices.
Sustainability is complex. The word itself is open to vast differences in interpretation which results in many individuals and organisations having difficulty visualising how to pragmatically address and prioritise a sustainable strategy. However, by bringing sustainability into CONTEXT of an organisation and its capabilities, a short, medium and long term strategy with transparent targets can be developed, this helps to manage expectations, generate motivation and knowledge gathering in what is a long and ongoing journey. The style is open and pragmatic. We are eager to learn as much about your business as we are to share our knowledge and experience, because we do not offer a copy and paste solution, its as individual as your brand and organisation. Just as your CONTEXT must be uniquely relevant to your future. I often find the word “consultant” difficult to describe our service, since it is equally about coaching and mentoring the skills you have in-house to achieve new goals. All delivered with a hint of DEnglish humour and the openness to allow tears of frustration and joy that are a part and parcel of any truly successful project. Our ultimate goal is to finalise a project, leaving an organisation with a clear strategy. Empowered and hungry to achieve clearly defined goals. Eager and capable to create a better future for the planet we rely on, contributing to a healthy and prosperous society. Creating added brand value, and a company that is more resilient, and future fit.
